Poster Series: Life on Land (UN Sustainable Development Goal 15)
In my poster series the main theme is on the need to protect and restore ecosystems on land. They are based off the UN’s Goal 15: Life on Land. Each poster looks at a major environmental problem that affects biodiversity and the balance of life around the world.
The first poster is about the illegal trafficking of exotic birds in the Amazon. It shows how the demand for rare and colorful birds leads to thousands being taken from their natural homes each year. This is shown through the popular birds in the trade in front of a bird cage and the information at the top.
The second poster looks at the decline of endangered animals in Africa, including species like elephants, rhinos, the grey zebra, and chimpanzees. These animals are losing their habitats and facing threats from poaching and climate change. The poster highlights the population decline on average every year and the need for stronger conservation efforts and better protection laws to help these species survive.
The third poster focuses on global deforestation, which is a huge cause of biodiversity loss and climate problems. It shows the global loss of forests using Mha (Million hectares, or \(10,000\) square kilometers) and how logging is destroying forests at a fast rate. The design shows this information through cut down trees arranged to look like a graph.
